In the heart of Brussels the saleroom of the « Mont-de-Piété » is becoming
progressively one of the most important auction room in the Capital of
Europe.
Each
year the « Mont-de-Piété » organises classical and special sales with catalogues in
its own rooms.
Today more than 90 % of the objects sold by auctions are jewels and silverwares
but there are also more and more objects of art and decoration articles such as for
example paintings, carpets, bronzes, crystalwares, small pieces of furniture,
etc.
The sold objects have two origins. Next to the sales realised after pledging
loans which do not have been paid back, there are the sales that are requested by the
borrowers themselves.
It does not matter if the sale is voluntary or not, the sale benefit, that is
the difference between the auctioning price and the minimal loan increased with the
interests and charges, is in favour of the customer who is the depository of the
object.
All the sales organised by the
« Mont-de-Piété » are supported by a catalogue and are preceeded by exhibitions.
The « Mont-de-Piété » sells in the best possible conditions all the pledges
that have been confided to him and the interests of which have not been paid as well as
all the pledges for which the borrower has asked a requested sale.
The deponent is discreetly informed per letter of the imminent enlistment of its
pledge and of the possibility for him to recover its good until the last moment before the
auctioning. We draw the attention of the customers who wants to buy in our sales to the
fact that the lots that are mentionned in the catalogue and presented during the
exhibitions can nevertheless be redeemed until the last time limit even during the
sale.
For the buyers who can not be present to the sales we accept buying orders.
